I am officially so totally done being sick. The awful "flu" has been visiting our house this week, and I've been down and out since Wednesday. Jess got it the same day, but she's better. Anna got it yesterday. Jessie's doing much better, and I thought I'd be on the mend today, but I still have an 101 fever.
Lots of jokes are circulating such as "you know you're sick when one day you take an 8 mile hike no problemo, and the next day, walking down the hall to the kitchen makes you huff and puff like nothing else." My poor mom is having to run her tail off to take care of our whole place plus three sick girls.
*tearing hair out* I mean, I have Christmas lights to finish taking down, piano to practice, pictures to edit, horses to work, paperwork to do, school to do......
Trying to be content and see what God is teaching me from this, but boy it's hard.
(slightly off topic......has anyone heard if the new Les Miserables is any good???)
I thought I was fine with just a few snuffs and runny noses left, but today my head started feeling funny again. Big bummer.
ReplyDeleteAs for LM, here is a review I just saw.
http://moviebyte.com/review/2013/01/les-miserables
The website supposedly is "Christian" but sometimes I wonder at their tastes and choices. Just keep that in mind.
Oh wow...I thought you were all the way done with it. Yucky bug!!
DeleteThanks for the link....sounds good, I just wonder how appropriate it is....they don't mention that.
Get well soon!! The flu can be just awful. :( And I've never seen Les Miserables, but I've heard there are like "mature" scenes in it...I have no intention on seeing it myself.
ReplyDeleteLisa......I know I really wanted to see Les Miserables because I do love musicals. I am sad to say that I won't be going after reading the reviews and having some younger sisters warn Justin and Jacob about the content. But....we did settle in and watch the very old movie the other day and we enjoyed it very much. So many plots come into play and I would love to hear from someone who has read the book? I know I mentioned this to you before the reviews were in but now that they are, I have to change my direction. We will pray you all get better soon and strength for your mom.
ReplyDeleteMrs. G
Thanks, Mrs. G. I had a feeling it wouldn't be good :( Bummer!! Have you seen the Broadway rendition of it? Some parts you have to fast-forward through, but overall amazing music. I watched it with a lady from church who knew exactly when the bad parts were, so that was awesome. Or you can just buy the soundtrack :)
DeleteI L.O.V.E. the book. Haven't read it as many times as I'd like merely due to it's size, but very good.
The R's have the old movie...I'd like to watch that..hmm...
Lisa....I have not seen the musical but I thought the old movie was very good. Do you think the book would be a good read aloud for Jon.....and all those that filter in because when we read aloud it seems everyone comes. :). We ALL love a good story :) Also, I need to check out the sound track too. Praying for you.....this is a rough flu bug.
DeleteTry olive leaf extract in liquid form for flues. Works very well particularly at early onset. Google it.
ReplyDeleteWe were using olive leaf hear but in capsule form. It shortened the duration but Golden seal has helped me most due to the fact that this settled in my chest. Olive leaf has prevented others so far though.
DeleteThanks for the ideas...I am thankfully feeling much better today!!! Got to go play with my horse again!!
DeleteAw, not fun! :( Don't stress, Lisa. It will pass. Maybe after the downtime you'll have loads of extra energy to burn on getting stuff done! :D
ReplyDeleteOh! And about Les Mis, you might be interested in reading some of the comments here: http://www.holyworlds.org/fantasy/viewtopic.php?f=153&t=7353
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen it yet, but I might see it when it comes out on DVD.
