Guess who's arrived???

Yep, that's right...we had another baby born here this morning!!!! We are SO grateful and praising God for a textbook delivery and a beautiful and healthy colt. Both mom and dad are horses that I drive and so this baby is super special to me. He is our first baby from Beamer, so that makes him even more special :)

Here's the story...

Yesterday evening, we tested Justine's milk using swimming pool water hardness testing strips. They test the calcium level in the milk, and 24 hours before baby come, the calcium level spikes. Well, last night, it spiked. So, we called friends and neighbors, and settled down to watch.

But, as it get later, people got goofier, and the boys proposed a toast. Only problem - Brennan didn't have a drink to use, so he grabbed the cup from the desk full of pencils ;) Our 10 o'clock humor was definitely kicking in.

Then, Jessie and Faith snuck up behind the boys and plopped the puppies down on their heads!! We are still watching Shakespeare, so we finished up Hamlet and started into Macbeth. Yuck. Dark, depressing, and disturbing.

Around 1 AM, we decided that we had better get some sleep, so everyone drifted off to their sleeping spots and crashed for a few hours. Morning rolled around and the R's decided to head home and do their animal chores - saying they'd be back in about an hour. No sooner had they pulled out of the driveway than we saw Justine start circling. She pawed, circled, started to lay down, and circled again. So, we called them and said, "She's acting funny...why don't you all move pretty fast and get back here as soon as you can."

Within a couple minutes, we had called them back, screamed "CONTRACTIONS" into the phone, and were dashing madly to the barn. When we got down there, Justine had just started contracting, and within a few minutes, we saw the white sac. Hooves came, head came, and then baby came!!! Textbook delivery and SUCH a miracle!!!

Baby's birth was viewed by quite a few people, and he has had many visitors today!

The exciting thing was that David got to help with this delivery! I showed him how hard to pull, and he was the one that pulled this baby out...YAY David!!

Later this morning, we took Baby and Justine to the front yard and Justine was so happy!!

My beautiful girly!

They're saying "Awwwwwwwww!"

Birth is such a miracle, and I am so grateful that God watches over every single thing that goes on in our lives!! He has been so good to us in giving us these wonderful horses and bringing so many babies out safely for us. Thank you SO MUCH to all who were praying for this baby!!!

  3. Just to let you know the title at the top is partially by the CBOTB logo.
As for the foal, I don't think Mom has ever driven to your place so fast ever before! It sure was fun though, I was praying the whole way that I wouldn't miss it. Boy is God good.
