“Never forget what Jesus did for you. Never take lightly what it cost Him. And never assume that if it cost Him His very life, that it won't also cost you yours.”

Of beautiful skies and cute puppies!
So sorry that I've slowed down on my blogging lately :)
One reason is that I am currently taking a photography class with Lisa Furey of www.TheLongRoadToChina.com. This lady is a genius and an incredible photographer. I am learning so much!!
Here's some quick pictures from the last few weeks.
I had the camera out in the pasture a few days ago, and this tree just made a perfect frame for a shot of Jessie. Can you tell she is the one who is always willing to pose for my camera?? :)
This is our beautiful puppy, Annie, growing up!! She is just the most beautiful girl, and so sweet and mellow. Our labs are just the best!!
And this....this....was the sky out in front of our house this evening!!!! Arizona is plunging headfirst into monsoon season which means heat, humidity, and overall nastiness. But, it also means beautiful, beautiful skies and clouds! This is really what it looked like...it was breathtaking.
I really have a thing for clouds. I feel like I'm always wandering around saying, "Wow...look at that cloud," or, "look at the sky," or.... but this one was special. It made me feel so small and just so amazed at God's creative powers and genius. And just that He cares for us and notices us when He has so many other big things to do.
Click on this picture and make it big...it's worth it :)
"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork. Day unto day utters speech, and night unto night reveals knowledge. There is no speech nor language where their voice is not heard. Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world." Ps. 19

Wow, those are beautiful photos!! Clouds really are amazing. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks!!! :D
DeleteWoah!! Gorgeous photos! And epicly beautiful clouds! I so love seeing your amazing photography, Lisa! Thanks for sharing. :D
ReplyDeleteThe background of the second photo is amazing! The lighting, the color, the blurriness, it's all just gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteThat sky is really beautiful! What lens were you using, and what focal length?
Beautiful sky! Clouds are awesome...
ReplyDeleteThank you, everyone!!!
ReplyDeletePaul...I guess I have enough other photo nuts on here that I should be posting settings!! The lens I was using on all the above shots is a Sigma 17-35mm. I love it. Settings were: f14, SS 1/200 and ISO-100. In my photo class, the subject was deep DOF...it worked :)
You got that kind of bokeh with an F stop of 14?!? That's amazing! How far away was the background? Does focal length have an effect on how wide of an aperture you need?
ReplyDeleteOh oh oh.....sorry. Blonde moment on my part :) I thought you were talking about on the last picture.
ReplyDeleteOn the second picture of Jessie & Annie, settings were f5, SS 1/125, and ISO-400. I had to bump my ISO up a little bit because the backlighting was so strong, and it was wanting to make Jess was too dark. So I had to tell it, "No..I'd like it brighter, please." :D
Ok, f5 makes more sense. ;) I wonder if there's a way to automatically add the EXIF info to the tool tips on photos when they're uploaded to blogger. I know that you you could input them manually via HTML, but that takes way to long.
