“Never forget what Jesus did for you. Never take lightly what it cost Him. And never assume that if it cost Him His very life, that it won't also cost you yours.”

Found it?!?

Alright, ladies and gentlemen...this indecision is killing me. I really need to decide on a new name, and I think I found it. I thought of it from the C.S. Lewis quote "Aim for heaven and you will get earth thrown in; aim at earth and you will get neither."

Shooting For Heaven.

Get it? Destination: Heaven, and "shooting" my pictures for heaven.

What do you think? Yes? No? Maybe?

  1. Love it! CS Lewis has some really great quotes.
As an aside, ever read his book A Grief Observed? Theology is sketchy at best, but it's really interesting.

  2. No, I haven't. I, of course, love the Narnia series, and Mere Christianity. Screwtape Letters are, um, interesting, as is The Great Divorce. I'll have to look into that.

I'm glad you like it...I was getting desperate :) Ask my mom; I kept throwing random phrases at her all day, and she'd look at me and say, "What?" I had to keep reminding her that I was trying to think of a email/blog name. :D

I'll give it a day or so just to be sure, and then take the plunge.

  3. Screw tape letters weird me out! I do not understand why people rave about it.

  4. Yeah, pretty creepy book. It scared me to think of a little demon on my shoulder all the time. Thought-provoking, though.

What is A Grief Observed about?

  5. It's his journal from after his wife died.

  6. That's awesome, Lisa!! I like it a lot! You'll have to let me know your email address when you have it decided and set up!

By the way, I've been meaning to comment on your last post, but blogger keeps eating my comment ;) Eventually, I'll probably get it written (again) and posted.

  7. Wow, Jordanna...that must be good.

Amy, I can't wait to get your comment! I'll definitely email you as soon as I get mine up and running.

  8. It has some really good parts. There one section about asking God questions. C S Lewis says "is yellow round or square?" You'll get it if you read it. I think that paragraph is really good. Like I said, though, the theology is sketchy. But it helped me know better how to respond to someone who was grieving, and not be like Job's friends, who probably meant well, but TOTALLY missed the mark.

  9. Yeah, TOTALLY. We did a study on Job with the R's in our worldview study that was good. We had to read Affliction by Edith Schaeffer. I'm surprised we didn't have to read this Lewis book. I'll have to get it or see if I can borrow from someone.

  10. Its sounds like your some sort of astronaut.
    Heaven in the Viewfinder?
    Glory in the Viewfinder?
    Glory in View?
C.s. Lewis had his shaky moments on theology. I had to read something of his ( not Narnia) and it was kinda screwy. Affliction was good. Really good.
Look for my post on pain!

  11. Daaaviiidd...forget shooting for heaven. You better duck because I may just start shooting for David. Grrr. You are impossible to please ;D

I like "eternal perspective", but it's taken on blogger. My mom likes "through His lens," but it's taken, too.

  12. Hey, watch it, once you start shooting my way its self defense shooting back. :)
Well, you don't have to listen to me you know, you can't please everybody in life. I'm just trying to help out here. :)
Try "Hoof Prints On the Lens"

  13. Yeah, I don't think I want to start a war with you :) You'd whip me hollow.

I know I don't *have* to listen to you, but I do want your opinion. I'm not as crazy over the name this morning. Found out Mom doesn't really like it, either.

    Thanks for helping me :D

  14. No, please, not a war with David - there would only be pieces of you left and I'm enjoying getting to know you!

Hoof Prints on the lens sounds a bit disastrous. Developed film is called a print, you could just try "hoof prints." Actually, that sounds boring. Gee, remind me never to ask for help choosing an email address! Hallelujah Hoof Prints? Is that too southern?
    Eternal Images
    Imago Dei
    In His Image
    ???

  15. You are so funny, Jordanna! I am loving getting to know you...any chance of you all moving to Phoenix? I need some more like-minded sisters in Christ.

I agree. When you got hoof prints on your lens, there is definitely a problem :D

"Eternal Images..." that is so funny. That was my top choice for today, but it was taken. "In His Image" was second choice, but taken also :(

Right now, I'm chewing on "An Image Bearer" ???

  16. NO. NO. and again NO. I will NOT move to phx.

    Bearing His Image

    Ai, my imagination runs dry...

  17. Yeah, I hear ya. If I lived where you do, I wouldn't move either :D

I like, really like that name.

Seriously! Doesn't your mind start to spin after throwing around too many random phrases?

  18. Is "Glory in View" taken? I think it's neato--that's my two-cents worth.
You know, you can always set up your blog with the URL being something like "glorinview2012" if "gloryinview" is taken, and then, through Blogger, purchase a custom domain. (www.gloryinview.com or whatever) You'd want to first make sure the desired custom domain is available. And then, actually, if you did set up a custom domain, your email could be something like lisa@gloryinview.com. Anyhow, that's what I've done before for my books.
(BTW- I was only using Glory in View by way of example. Not being bossy. Oh, and will you let me know your new email addy when it happens?) ;)
