    1. I know, right?!? It is really fun to be able to carry the babies around and be like, hmm...proverbial "hold your horses" becomes a reality :D

And the really funny thing is that my whole family is over 6 feet tall...and we have all miniature horses!!

    2. How much does she weigh?
I used to raise goats for 4-H years ago, and I remember running around carrying the doeling's, who probably only weighed 20lbs or so. But they're nowhere near as cool as a fillie. (Goats were as close as I could get to horses at the time, now we have three horses).

    3. I would guess she's between 20-25 lbs. You have big horses?!?!? SOOOO blessed.

We used to have all big horses - trained and showed Paints - but then we got too afraid of hay prices and so we switched to minis. I miss riding terribly bad, though. I'm just glad we can still have horses...but I would give a lot to ride again :D

What other animals do you have? What do you do with your big horses?

    4. Let's see, we have the three horses, way to many chickens to count (my little brother has quite the chicken business going), a goose, a Canada goose, some ducks, a boatload of cats (I think we're down to about 6), a tarantula, and a couple Guinea pigs.
They're just pets. My mom and two younger sisters (8 and 10) ride them a bit. Though I should mention that technically two of them are ponies, a large morgan, and a POA, then we have a quarter horse, who has a very shiny reddish brown coat. He's gorgeous when he stands in the sunlight, all shimmery and clean (sometimes), now we just need to figure out how to train him properly. ;)

    5. Wow! You all sound like us!! My little sister breeds chickens...miniature chickens, nonetheless! They're called Seramas and she has quite the business going, too :D

We have a bunch of chickens, 19 mini horses, a cat (gopher/mice control), a cow (future steak), a goat (milk), a bunch of parrots, 10 dogs, and the various other varmints and insects that come when you live on a farm! haha

I wouldn't trade our life and animals for anything!! Are you all homeschooled?

    6. Wow, that's quite a few horses! What do you use them all for?
I sure am! Though, technically, I suppose I should say 'was', seeing as how I'm now living with my older brother on the opposite side (almost) of the country from beautiful Oregon, which we still call home. Though we (my brother and I) do plan on going back sometime in the next couple of years, though it's still undecided for me, because I may stay out here to attend first couple of years of college, or I might do that back in Oregon, so we'll see what the Lord has!

    7. We breed them, show them, take them in nursing homes, in parades, and just enjoy them :D They're a blast!

What are you doing in college?

    8. That does sound like fun! My little sisters sure would love to see them!
I'm currently planning on getting a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Though that's a horribly short version of the story. In truth, I would much rather not go to college, because I feel if it weren't for a couple of factors, there are a lot of things that I could do with four years, and tens of thousands of dollars other than go to college, however, because I wan't to go into engineering, I need piece of paper that says "I went to college, and have the bare minimum that you require of me", no wait, I mean "I have a degree". My goal is to be able to work directly for my clients (ie, work for myself, but you're never really working for yourself, you just get closer to the customer), and be able to integrate my family into it, and in in best case scenario, work from home, so that I could spend more time with them.
My parents and my employer (who is a friend first, boss second), think that college would be the best route, and since they have more wisdom then I have (and because I'm commanded to obey my parents) that's the rout I'm taking! So we'll see what the Lord has! (that's funny, I wrote that last sentence, and looked up, and noticed "oh, that's how I ended my last comment!)

    9. That's a good way to end things :) True, and safe!!

I totally get you about getting a degree. I was thinking about midwifery for a long time, and in a lot of states, you have to have a nursing degree. Over time, due to our beliefs about (especially girls) going to college, we decided that was probably not what God has for me. So now I'm pursuing photography...no degree needed!

Self-employment is a great thing. That's awesome that you're trying to do that and work from home! God bless you!!

And you too! From what I've seen so far, you've got a great eye!
