Happy Friday!
“Never forget what Jesus did for you. Never take lightly what it cost Him. And never assume that if it cost Him His very life, that it won't also cost you yours.”

Overwhelmed
Does this ever happen to anyone else? Please tell me it does......where all those hundred and one little things you have to do come crashing down in one big pile and you feel like you'll never surface again.
When the to-do list, the emotional chaos, and all the other problems in life combine and weigh on you like you're carrying a thousand pounds around in a backpack.
And then............you get a paper cut.
Just like the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back, you start to cry, and then you cry...and cry....and cry. For, like......ever. And no one around seems to get it. "It's just a paper cut! You'll be okay."
"IT'S NOT JUST THE PAPER CUT!"
I've been living in a semi-constant state of overwhelmedness lately. It's not a fun place to be. And my worst problem is that I am terrified of causing any ripples in the water around me, so I never talk about my problems and struggles. Until they come to a head and I'm crying sobbing over a paper cut.
So friend, if you're like me, let's remember that God is bigger than our struggles. And when it feels like there's a thousand rocks crashing down on your head, just start taking them off.......one pebble at a time.
"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

Conservative Conservatism
Conservatism. What does the word make you think of?
A strong holding to the traditional values that made America great.......
The complete antithesis to everything being pushed by The Regime (to quote my favorite talk show host!).....
Staunch Constitution worshipers......
Blind followers of the ideologies of the Tea Party.....
The list goes on and on and changes radically depending on who you're talking to.
For me personally, my definition has changed over the years. I used to think that conservatives where the "good guys" in our modern battle of right and wrong.....the last men standing against the tide of liberalism and socialism that threatens to overtake the west....the heroes....the smart ones.....and boy was I proud to call myself one!
Over time, I read and learned more, and changed my opinion. Republicans, conservatives, and the whole GOP lost my esteem as they continually voted for more liberal policies, compromised on principles, and slowly but surely became not-that-different than the leftists. The only difference was that they still called themselves "the right".
Everyone on the "good side" seemed to be striving to fix symptoms.....not problems.
But today, Conservatives gained back my respect a little bit. Michelle Malkin, after speaking at length about the ways that young people are being indoctrinated through our public school system, announced that she has recently started homeschooling her own children!
Jonah Goldberg, author and host on Fox News, made the statement that the reason American civil society is crumbling is due to a "father crisis", and a "destruction of the nuclear family".
Wow! Am I hearing this right? Conservatives are saying that the main problem, and as such - the solution, lies not in government or more regulations, but in a healing and reconstruction of the family.
The other surprising thing, and something that is relatively new, is that conservatives are starting to really revolt against the GOP. They have seen that "Republicans" are really no better than "Democrats" at this point, and are much more open to the idea of a third party or other alternatives.
They still have issues that I would disagree with, but on the whole, I was encouraged and slightly hopeful again.
Now I'm off to go watch some more Michelle Malkin videos......... :) :) :)

A Beautiful Girl
Girls are an odd thing, you know.
All of us love, just love, to be told we're beautiful....that what we're wearing is cute....that that color looks good on us. All of us want to be thought of as physically attractive.
But all of us, deep down, are mortally terrified of only being loved for our mere physical appearance.
The thing we long for, is one of the things we're most in dread of.
Girls.....YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL! Don't ever doubt it. God made you exactly how He wanted to fulfill a very specific purpose He has for your life. He has a mission for you to perform, and you are created perfectly to do it.

A Beautiful Thing
So it's probably really, really obvious why I saved this quote once upon a time. Every time I pick up my camera, I feel so incredibly grateful that I get to do what I love and make some money doing so. God has truly blessed me!! My hope and prayer with my photography business is that every image I shoot will declare His glory and point others to Him.
P.S. Looking ahead through my quotes folder, I didn't realize that some of these were going to be hard to share. It feels like I'm about to show some parts of me that I'd rather stay hidden......it'll be good for me, I guess!

Quote Junkie
Depending on how well you know me, you may have realized by now that I am totally, completely, 100% a quote-junkie.
Seriously. I collect them like other girls collect shoes. And I save them.....in one big folder on my computer to be pulled out randomly if I need encouragement, a laugh, or a reminder. Oh, and if I feel you're in need of any one of those things, I'll send you one as well :)
Anyways, instead of hoarding all my precious quotes, I've decided to systematically post all the quotes I have saved. Currently, there's 171 pictures in my "sayings" folder, so brace yourselves! I may post one a day, a couple a day, or one a week.....haven't quite made up my mind yet :D
I think I'll just go in the order they're in my folder, so they'll be a little random. Some are funny, some are serious, some I saved because I needed it, some I saved because they made me think of someone. Hopefully they'll bless others somehow.
Even if it's just with a grin :)
Here's the first one! Random.........I warned you :) :) :)

Smiles
Gotta love it when I'm sitting on the rail shooting, and this guy looks up into the stands, sees the camera.....and smiles :) :)
